The Middle Years Programme requires students to participate in Service as Action projects. These are student created and managed initiatives in which they choose specific goals and aims as well as reflect on their experiences. At WIS each student is required to take part in one Service as Action project per trimester in MYP 1-5. The school has an appointed Service as Action Coordinator who helps to guide and advise the students.
Social engagement is highly valued at Wroclaw International School. The school subscribes to the belief that an orientation towards service is an essential complement to an academically rigorous education. The school is committed to following the guidelines set forth by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in terms of organizing and promoting community service. Social engagement is integrated into the curriculum. Students help to feel needs in the local and global communities – wherever knowledge of languages and an ability to reach out to others are appreciated.
