The core of the IB Diploma Programme has three components.
- The Extended Essay is an in-depth research project that students carry out over the course of the programme. It gives students the opportunity to produce a formal piece of writing on a topic from one of their course subjects. It is excellent preparation for the kind of formal research required at university.
- The Theory of Knowledge course is designed help students develop a critical understanding of knowledge itself. Students study the nature, values, limitations and implications of knowledge across their academic subjects.
- Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) is at the heart of the Diploma Programme and involves a range of activities that students engage in alongside their academic studies. It consists of experiential learning that allows students to express themselves creatively through artistic endeavors, physically through sports, and ethically through service to the community.
