In front of the Little Insurgent Monument, a memorial to the heroic uprising of Warsaw’s citizens against German occupation in 1944

13-11-2024

Yesterday, our PYP4 and MYP1 & 2 students began an exciting field trip to Warsaw! Their first day was packed with discoveries as they immersed themselves in the rich history and beauty of Poland’s capital.

The adventure began with a visit to the Royal Castle, followed by a scenic evening stroll along Krakowskie Przedmieście, where they admired the Presidential Palace. They also followed traces of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, gaining a powerful perspective on the resilience and courage of those who fought for Poland’s freedom. The timing of their visit was especially meaningful, as Poland celebrated its National Independence Day on November 11. Along the way, students even learned about elections in Poland—and nearly elected one of their classmates as President!

It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and unforgettable moments. We can’t wait to see what the next adventures bring!

Day 2 of the Field Trip to Warsaw

Another exciting day packed with fun and education! We kicked things off with a scavenger hunt at the Museum of Geology, where students explored the wonders of the Earth. Later, we visited Łazienki Park, the stunning Royal Park, where students encountered various animals and admired landmarks like the Belweder Palace, Marshal Piłsudski’s car, and, of course, the iconic Chopin Monument. 🎹

After some shopping and a delicious lunch near Sigismund’s Column, students delved into the history of Warsaw at the Warsaw Uprising Museum, learning about the city’s resilience and spirit.

What an unforgettable day full of discovery! 🌍✨

Day 3 of the Warsaw Field Trip was all about science at EC1! 🌌

Students attended a private show at the planetarium, where they explored the fascinating history of human space exploration. Later, they put their science knowledge and skills to the test in the interactive exhibits.

Check out the pictures to see how much fun we had!
