Children who are 4 y.o. may be eligible for admission to Pre-Kindergarten. In all cases, verification of age is required by presenting a copy of the passport or birth certificate.
Students applying for Kindergarten to MYP 5 (grade 10) who have completed a full year at a specific grade level in their national system or at an international school will be placed into the next appropriate grade level at WIS upon the condition that proper school records are provided. In addition, the school follows a specific age guideline in determining appropriate grade levels for new students. WIS reserves the right to assess students to ensure proper placement. The basis for this assessment is developmental readiness, taking into account physical, social, emotional, intellectual and academic development. For acceptance into MYP 3-5 (Grades 8 to 10) knowledge of the English language must be of an acceptable standard. An English test (ESL) will be given to all non-native English speakers, before a decision on acceptance can be made. Upon acceptance, all students entering MYP 3-5 must make an appointment with the Counsellor or Head of School for course-scheduling purposes before attending classes.
