Success happens because we work together
Parents play a special role in our learning community. The WIS Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) brings together parents, teachers, and others who are interested in supporting the school. Its purpose is to support learning and programs for students and promote a sense of community.
Organization
The organization meets on a monthly basis on Coffee Mornings to talk about all current school issues in a informal setting. The PTA has an elected board: chairperson, vice chairperson, treasurer and secretary as well as several sub-committees. The group meets also from time to time with the Head of School as well as with the Director of Schools (member of the governing body board) to exchange the information.
Support for new families
The PTA runs several projects to support the new families at school. When you join WIS, you will get a PTA Welcome Letter and will be informed who can support you at the accommodation process in Wroclaw and at school.
Activites
The PTA runs many social events for parents and children and is very active in WIS Social Media. There is a private Facebook group etc. Through fundraising, the PTA supports also charity aims and the school in providing “extras” for the students. Other activities include volunteering to accompany class field trips and special events, organizing clubs and providing specific assistance requested by teachers.
PTA provides an opportunity for everyone to work together for a common goal. All parents and teachers are encouraged to become involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. You are mostly welcome to join the actions of PTA and develop your own ideas!
